Woodland Community College

Woodland Community College is a fully accredited, local, two year community college. Found in Woodland, California, the college is part of the Yuba Community College District.

Woodland has gone through many changes and upgrades since its establishment in 1975. Upon first opening, it was considered a community outreach program. Six years later, the Postsecondary Education Commission of California relabeled Woodland as an educational center. Nine years after that, in 1990, the then “Woodland Center” founds its new and current home on around 120 acres of land. Yuba Community College District pushed for Woodland to become a self-sustaining community college in 1999, which happened to be the exact same year they opened their child development center. Finally, one year later, the college began the official process of becoming the community college it is today.

Woodland Community College offers distance education programs in the form of online courses, enhanced internet/online courses, instructional television courses and telecourses. For students who work full time or have other obligations, earning a degree via distance education at Woodland is an ideal option.
