Southern California University of Health Sciences
Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) is a non-profit, private university located in Whittier, California. In all its programs and curriculum, SCUHS emphasizes alternative and complementary medicine. The university is organized into several colleges and schools: the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CAOM), the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC), the School of Professional Studies, and an Integrated Science Program.Students of the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine may pursue a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree. This program takes 9 trimesters to complete, and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
The College of Chiropractic offers a 10-trimester chiropractic program. Students of this program may pursue one of two full-time residency programs, either in Diagnostic Imaging or in Sports Medicine. Each of these programs takes two years to complete.
There are also two Ayurvedic certification programs available through SCUHS. Students interested in this certification can choose between an Ayurvedic practitioner program and a wellness educator program.
